With fabrics, the possibilities are endless
What does a fabric stylist do?

In the real world, fabric stylists work in the fashion and design industry. According to Creative Art Schools, "they have to keep up to date on the latest trends to predict which clothes become popular. With this knowledge in mind, the fabric stylist acts as a consulant, helping other designers choose appropriiate colors and patterns. They also must keep in mind the budgets of the customers who normally shop with them and must choose appropriate fabrics based on this information."
According to "Patternmaking for Fashion Design" by Helen Joseph-Armstrong, "a designer starts a line by researchng color trends and fabric lines. Styling is determined by the designer's taste level, price of the line, the season, degree of fashion taste of the manufacturer, and the past performance of specific styles."
It's their job to think about the aesthetics (design, color, and decoration) of a garment that would enhance their consumers' face and figure.
