As versatile and flattering as jeans, culottes should always be one of your clothing items in your wardrobe. Culottes are the perfect pants to get you through this unpredictable fall weather. Don't be afraid to sport culottes as there are countless ways to look great in them, chic, casual, glam and work appropriate. Culottes are comfortable and easy to wear especially if you are an active woman who is all about comfort and at the same time wants to look chic. Culottes can take on a variety of fabrics and effortlessly pair up with other clothing items such as denim tops, comfty white tees, cropped and fitted tops. I also made this denim boatneck top, using a pattern from Burda Style. Let your imagination run wildly especically with fabrics of your choosing. I used the 100% cotton wax print fabric with a mesmerizingly beauitful design to make these culottes. I created my own culotte pattern using my old pair of jeans, making them wider around my thighs, while keeping the hip part fitted. Sport this hot trend with heels and a structured top to look effortlessly chic.

Fun Fashion History: Culottes
According to Bustle, women's culottes first appeared when Victorian ladies got active. They were initally known as known as "split" or "divided skirts" concealed by ruffles or panels. They gave women the freedom to ride bikes and horses properly. Later, culottes became a key part of the iconic uniform of the Guides and were sorted by fashion visionary Elsa Schiaparelli, an early adopted of the kind of culottes you will find on the high stree season. She loved to push the boundaries, which made like minded customers flock to her. When one of her fans, Lili de Alvarez, a Spaniard tennis player, wore culottes to a tourament which freaked people out! During that time, culottes were considered manly and feminist.
