Dazzle your date in this body-flattering and versatile tiger print v-shaped peplum top that will carry you around with a sense of chic elegance. This top was made using the pattern Burda 6977. I was attemping for view B but the sleeves were ill-fitting. So I decided to make this top sleeveless. I tried it on and became happy with the result. The fabric used to made this peplum is taffeta, a crisp, smooth, plain woven fabric made from silk or rayon. The word is Persian in origin which means "twisted woven." It is considered to be a "high-end" fabric, suitable for use in ball gowns, wedding dresses, and interiors for curtains or wallcovering. But this doesn't stop the beautiful taffeta peplum top from being worn in a casual setting. To ground the formal vibe, you can pair it with washed jeans or white denim pants with flats or wedge sandals. Naturally, for a formal but cool look, you can pair it with a pencil skirt with heels to have your date lured!

Fun Fashion History: Taffeta fabric
Taffeta was used for purposes other than clothing fabric, including the following:
On November 4, 1782, taffeta was used by Joseph Montgolfier of France to construct a small, cube-shaped balloon. This was the beginning of many experiments using taffeta balloons by the Montgolfier brothers, and led to the first known human flight in a lighter-than-air craft.
Synthetic fiber forms of taffeta have been used to simulate the structure of blood vessels.
